The timber is darkened using a fuming process, producing a rich, smoked oak tone with depth and variation that enhances the natural grain. Factory finished with a protective oil, the board is sealed and ready for installation. The oil enriches the colour of the fumed oak while providing a durable surface finish, removing the need for additional on-site treatment. Natural grain patterns, subtle figuring, and small knots remain visible beneath the finish, ensuring that each length has its own individual character. Variation in tone is an inherent feature of the fuming process and contributes to the overall visual appeal. Manufactured in the UK using advanced British and German wood-machining equipment, each board is produced to high standards of accuracy and consistency. All timber is sustainably sourced from reputable sawmills in France, Canada, and the USA, kiln-dried to 810% moisture content, and stored in a temperature-controlled factory throughout the production process. Important note: Fuming is a chemical process that naturally darkens oak and results in variation between boards and batches.
